Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of a musician/composer, and an actress, it seemed in her blood to be a performer.
She had a love for music, dance and acting since childhood… she began dancing at age three, and continued diligent and dedicated study until adulthood. In college, she became a BFA Acting major at Marymount Manhattan College, and then transferred to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where she graduated with a degree in Professional Music. After graduation she moved back to New York City to hit the industry on all fronts.
In NYC, she landed her dream job; the role of “Maureen” in the National Tour of “RENT“. Soon after the tour ended she made her Broadway debut in the role of “Maureen” in the Broadway company.
Her recurring role on UGLY BETTY took her out to Los Angeles for the first time, she fell in love with "Hollywood" and made the move out west. TV appearances include, N.C.I.S, Private Practice, Franklin & Bash, The Exes, Mike & Molly, Love Bites, The Society, City on a Hill, multiple pilots as well as many short and feature-length films.
Regional Theater credits include work at Pasadena Playhouse, Trinity Repertory Company, and a musical parody at LA’s Rockwell Table & Stage.
Ava is also a voice over artist and has worked on popular video games as well as numerous radio and internet spots.
Ava now balances her acting career with family life and teaching - she is part of the adjunct faculty at the Palladino School of Dance and School of the Arts at Dean College, and is part of the teaching faculty at Boston Casting. She also teaches acting, music and entertainment industry workshops and masterclasses virtually and throughout New England.
